FEHU

Wight of the Nine Worlds: Fehu

 FEHU

Fe causes strife amongst friends
The wolf feeds in the forest
Fe is joy to man
strife among kin
path of the serpent
The snake lies coiled
Hidden, it waits beneath
like a frost-covered field
Strife that kinsmen suffer.

Fehu is the cattle. A man/family that owned cattle was lucky. In the best case they had more than one, meaning meat, milk, leather, something to trade big. With cattle you can work the fields, pull a carriage, and of course you can drink out of its horns.

Cattle is peaceful but strong.

If you have many, you get more and more. You can feed more people, more responsibility. Expectations are raised against you, envy, why you and not me? If I come at night, no one will see, I will get into your house quietly, no one will stop me when I take the cattle, maybe just one or two, maybe all. Better do not be in my way. Father gave it to you but not me. But it should be me...

The serpent is the dragon that lays on the hoard and the bigger the hoard gets, the bigger the dragon gets. It is your hoard, you want to have it but you do not want to wake the serpent for when it wakes up, it may burn you.

You see, once you let the spirit loose, it will fly and it will see, it will feel, will taste and it will tell you the story never told, the story that is yours.

Fehu is wealth, risk, luck, burden joy and danger. You may share, they may take it from you. You may put it for safeguard and it may be lost....

 Fehu is cattle.
